What kind of surgery is required for eyelid aesthetics? Aesthetic procedures have begun to be regarded as a necessity worldwide due to a series of proven operations.

Eyelid aesthetics, in particular, are among the most preferred procedures. Over time, the upper and lower eyelids can accumulate excess tissue and become saggy. These conditions can occur in young individuals due to certain medical issues, or in others as a result of aging.

If sagging occurs as a result of wrinkles, in addition to eyelid surgery, procedures such as a brow lift and wrinkle-correcting interventions may also be necessary. In eyelid cosmetic surgeries, excess skin and fat pads on the upper eyelids are usually removed together. The situation with the lower eyelids is somewhat different. Sometimes excess fat pads are removed along with excess skin, while in other cases, depending on sagging in the midface area, the fat may not be removed but rather repositioned upward along with the sagging midface tissue.

Problems related to eyelid laxity are quite common, and with aging, these signs become more pronounced, initially showing clearly around the eyes.

Upper and lower eyelid issues include:

  • Older appearance due to sagging
  • Eyelid looseness
  • Layered or folded appearance
  • Puffiness in the lower eyelid

When these issues are corrected, people often feel renewed and free of concerns. When performed by professionals, these surgeries carry minimal risk and can restore expressive, youthful eyes.

These procedures are relatively simple and typically take 1–2 hours. Under anesthesia and with sedation, the surgery usually involves making incisions in the affected areas. If the problem is with the lower eyelid, the surgeon intervenes in that region. In some cases, adjustments to the overall eye structure, brow lifting, or tightening of the crow’s feet area may be needed, which can require additional incisions. Ultimately, these interventions restore a natural appearance and help patients feel youthful again. Recovery is generally quick, leaving the patient looking rejuvenated.
