WHAT RISKS AWAIT YOU IN A FACELIFT PROCEDURE?

Why Is the Golden Ratio Important for the Face?

In today’s world, many people place great importance on their aesthetic appearance. Concepts such as the harmony of body contours, the angles between the eyebrows, eyes, nose, and lips, and the lines that form on the face all fall within the scope of aesthetics. Especially when it comes to the face, the concept of the golden ratio is regarded as a key indicator of harmony.

In short, the closer the proportions of the face align with the golden ratio, the more aesthetically pleasing the entire face is considered. Among facial aesthetic procedures, one of the most commonly performed is the facelift, a method frequently chosen by many people. This procedure can be performed through surgical operations as well as with non-surgical techniques.

What Is a Facelift Procedure?

Over time, the face can no longer resist the effects of gravity, causing it to sag downward. As a result, the eyebrows, eyelids, cheeks, and lips begin to droop, creating a harsher and less aesthetic appearance. One of the cosmetic operations performed to address this issue is the facelift procedure.

A facelift involves making incisions in certain areas, removing sagging tissues, and lifting them upward. It is a procedure that must be carried out by experienced professionals, as the natural expression of the face should not be lost after surgery. Poorly performed operations can result in difficult, sometimes irreversible complications.

After a facelift, the recovery period is also important:

  • Full healing usually takes around 4 weeks.
  • Post-surgery creams prescribed by the doctor should be used for at least 2 months.
  • Protecting the skin from sunlight is essential.
  • Until stitches are removed, strong facial expressions should be avoided.

What Are the Techniques for Facelifts?

Facelift procedures are not limited to surgical methods. With advances in medical technology, there are now multiple approaches, such as:

  • Thread lift (face suspension with threads)
  • Ultrasound methods
  • Laser-assisted facelift
  • Ultherapy (ultrasound-based skin tightening)

The physician evaluates which technique is most suitable for each patient and carries out the procedure accordingly.
