Breast Reduction Surgery Procedure in Istanbul, or reduction mammaplasty, is designed to relieve the physical discomfort associated with large breasts. Good candidates for breast reduction include those with breasts too large in proportion to their body size, heavy breasts that restrict physical activity and cause indentation from bra straps, or if one breast is considerably larger. This procedure can be performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia.

Our office peforms many breast reduction surgery procedures in Istanbul. The most common method of breast reduction involves three incisions. One is made around the areola, another vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease under the breast, and a third incision is horizontally beneath the breast. After removing the excess breast tissue, fat and skin, both the nipple and areola are moved to a higher position. The areola may also be reduced in size. Liposuction may also be performed to improve the appearance and contour the breast area. There may be variations to the procedure depending upon the size and shape of your breasts.

Recovery for breast reduction surgery begins within several weeks. You may have drains in place, which will be removed in the first several days postoperatively. You will need to wear a support bra for a few weeks. Normal activities may be resumed gradually including exercise.
